Trey!

Well, you always hear that older kids start regressing when a new baby comes. I have been preparing myself that Trey will probably want all of her things and may start having more trouble potty training and so forth. However, I didn't know that it would start happening before she came. The other day I went into her bedroom and found Trey laying in her crib playing with her mobile. He pulled the bedspread over himself and wanted to stay in there forever. I didn't make it any better because I thought it was so funny so he woudn't take me seriously when I told him he needed to get out. It is so easy for him to climb in her crib because her mattress is so high. All he has to do is put one foot on the bed and stand on the mattress and throw himself over. I'm sure once she gets here, he will climb in there with her more than once. Oh well, it was pretty funny and kept him occupied for a few minutes! I'm sure there are worse things than laying in a crib cuddled up with a pink blanket...right?

I will post pictures of her bedroom after Christmas. Right now you would be wondering how she was going to fit in the room with all the presents and junk scattered around the place!

Preggo Brain...

Okay, so I have always heard that you forget things when you are pregnant, but I guess I don't remember that from being pregnant with Trey. (huh, so I guess it really happens) Anyway, last week I woke up in the middle of the night and started freaking out because I thought I had forgotten to mail one of the hostesses for my baby shower a thank you card. I mean, I could not stop worrying about this. The next day I emailed her and was telling her how sorry I was..etc. etc..and she just emailed me back and said I had sent her a card about a month ago. Oops...

Then, our dog, BELLA needed a new dog bed because hers was torn up. I wrote her name in all caps so you can catch that she has a definite girl name. Anyway, I was at PetSmart looking at all of them and wishing I could get the cute pink one that came with a pink blanket but instead I went with the blue one with a blue fuzzy blanket since our dog was a boy. I told myself next dog would be a girl so we could buy pink. Then I got in the car and called J.O. and was telling him how I got a cute dog bed but I really wish BELLA was a girl so I could get the pink one. He just said, "huh" and then I realized that our dog of 3 years was indeed a girl. Luckily, J.O. has been through crazy pregnant girl before and knew better than to say anything. The point of this long story is to ask you just to shake your head and nod at whatever I may say for the next month and a half because it may not make any sense at all.

Christmas Cards!

This year has been a very hard year to get a good Christmas picture of Trey. He is into the fake smiling and just won't sit still very long. We took him to see Santa and I bought the picture because it was hilarious. I would run over and pull Trey's pants down and as soon as I would walk away, Santa would pull them back up on accident. This went on about 3 times until Mrs. Clause finally picked one for me and said it looked fine. When I got home and really looked at the picture I noticed Santa also looked like he was hovering over Trey about to attach him. Needless to say that one is not going on a Christmas card.

Luckily, my friend loves taking pictures and takes great pictures and volunteered to come over and take some. I think she saw the dilemma in getting a good one after a few minutes though. She kept at it though and we got a lot of really cute ones! However, after all of that I have still decided I am skipping the Christmas cards this year. I am just going to blame it on the bad economy like everyone else does. SO....consider this my card...Merry Christmas and we hope everyone has a safe and wonderful holiday!

Love,

New Orleans!

J.O. and I went to New Orleans this past weekend for a fun getaway! We decided if we didn't do it now, it would never happen. The holidays are here and Addison will be here before we know it! Anyway, we headed out on Thursday after work and had a great time. We went to a lot of shops and saw a lot of the historic spots around New Orleans. My favorite part though was the food. I told J. O. my goal was to have desert with every meal and I think I succeeded! I even had desert one morning with breakfast. It was great. Needless to say, my doctors appointment this morning reflected my out of control eating. The nurse actually laughed when I stepped on the scale. I went into this big spill about how I had been out of town and eaten a lot...etc.etc...but luckily she just said it was fine and I had a good excuse!
More importantly J.O. and I had a great time and it was a lot of fun to be on our own for a bit. However, we were also really ready to be home and see Trey! Funny how things change!

PICS SOON!

Well, my camera batteries are dead so I will have to update pictures soon. We have had a lot going on. We have Addison's furniture completely put up and now all we have to do is decorate. I have her bedding and it is super cute! I had a shower this weekend and it was great. I got so many wonderful things that I need and I feel ready for this baby! I was so thankful to my friends who threw it and it helped me feel prepared before we start the madness of the holidays.

We also took Trey to Winnie the Pooh at Alltel Friday and he had a blast. He sat on our laps and clapped and yelled the whole time. He was very enamored by Tigger while he jumped around everywhere. It was a lot of fun! Just a word of advice though: if you ever take your kids to see something at Alltel, pay extra to park close! We drug Trey out of there screaming and I was very glad it was a short walk across the street to our car! Thankfully there were 1,000 other kids there and no one even looked at us dragging a limp child through traffic.

Last, I got my 4D ultrasound today and saw some great pictures of Addison. She never takes her right hand away from her face except when she is using it to grab her right foot. I made the technician show me her left side so I knew it existed! The only thing we couldn't ever see was a full picture of her head because she is too low. She was also sound asleep when we were trying to see her but the second we walked out she woke up! I have a feeling she may be a little stubborn. Anyway, I will have pictures up of all these soon when I get my camera batteries charged.

Change of Heart.....

Well, I have to be honest and admit I am not a HUGE fan of Halloween. I think it is just a big marketing scheme to get people to buy lots of candy and silly costumes. So, after Trey begged for the Elmo costume every time we were in Wal-Mart I finally broke down and bought it. When it came time to put on the costume though he hated it! It got fuzz all in his mouth and he wanted it off. I was grumbling about Halloween under my breath the whole time!! However, I slowly started talking him into it and he became more and more excited. Then when we got to the fall festival and he saw all the games and the big slide he went nuts! He was running around yelling, "I Elmo!" and talking to all the other kids in line. Before I realized it I was loving Halloween too! We drug Trey out of there when it was closing down and he sprinted around the house for about an hour when we got home. Next year, I will have to limit the candy. I was just having too much fun to care!
The big slide was his favorite part for sure. The bad thing about that was it took him a few times to get comfortable going on his own, so his big preggo mama had to climb up with him! I'm sure the kids behind me were terrified I would slip and fall on them! Anyway, I have changed my opinion on Halloween and now can't wait until next year! If only I could get J.O. to dress up in a family theme.......

Halloween!

My Birthday!!

Yes, I am a little late posting this, but I am sure that is pretty much how this whole blog will go. Expect Halloween pics next month sometime......
Anyway, my birthday was the 18th and Trey was so excited. J. O. watched him all morning while I shopped and when I got home he ran to the door to let me in and was yelling Happy Birthday the whole time. He was very excited to give me my gift and watch me open it. My gift was a coffee mug that Trey painted himself! It was supposed to be a red and blue color but it came out sorta muddy camo. Oh well, I love it!! J.O. did well too and even got me a chocolate fudge birthday cake. Needless to say that is what Trey was most excited about. Birthdays are not the same the older you get, but I guess I should just start being thankful that I am getting older! Hope everyone has a fun and safe Halloween tonight. Hopefully Trey will wear his costume...more on that later!

Potty Training......

Okay, so we are in the process of potty training and it is definitely hard work!! If people wouldn't look at me (and him) so funny I would not be opposed to ignoring this altogether. Of course, J.O. is all about it because it saves us $10 a week. However, he isn't the one going in every random public bathroom with the boy. Here are a few of my tips that I have picked up:

1) If you can stay home all day on the first day, put them in real underwear. The inventor of the pull up was a genius because he took a regular diaper and marketed it different. Seriously, they will not know the difference and the underwear will let them see what it feels like. However, be prepared for a messy day.
2.) Go crazy the first time they pee in the potty. Seriously, run through the house dancing and call everyone you know. They will get so excited. But be prepared to dance through the house everytime because they will expect it after that.
3.) Buy small pieces of candy to reward them with. I got caught with only Hershey Kisses the first day and I think he had a whole bag that day. M&Ms or Skittles would have been a much better option. Now he will pee on command for a Hershey Kiss though.
4.) Be prepared to take them every 20 or 30 minutes the first day. It's like feeding a newborn all over again. You get one cycle down just to start over.
5.) Take Clorox wipes with you into public bathrooms. There is nothing nastier than putting your cute little boy's booty on a big ole nasty seat.

I was going to post a picture of him in his big boy underwear, but decided my next picture should be of him fully clothed. I will make that my goal this weekend to get a picture up of him wearing normal boy clothes....

Okay, so Im sure one day Trey will love the fact that I posted him parading around in my high heels, but he loves doing it! He always gets the same pair of red shoes out of my closet and stumbles around the house in them. I don't understand why this drives J. O. crazy???? :) Not to mention, I guess I could dress him in something other than a tighty whitey tshirt while he does this!!

Im going to try again.....

Okay, so I started a blog a while back but never kept up with it. Im going to try to start again and actually do it!! I will add pictures later when I am on my home computer. Nothing really fabulous is happening in our world. Just trying to prepare for the second baby. We have decided on Addison Ward Norman and she is due February 5th. Why does it seem so much harder to get things in order the second time around? I think the first time your family is much more excited and immediately starts stocking you up. This time it's all about me doing it!! Im not complaining but things don't happen as quickly this way. Trey still LOVES his little school program he goes to twice a week. He has come home with lots of new sayings....."give me that back right now" and "thats mine" are a few of my favorites. He is also in the very curious stage. Everything is "whats that" "whos this" and so on.....I really love this stage though because he is so funny. We are also in the middle of potty training and it is going pretty well. I will add pics soon!!
