New Orleans!

J.O. and I went to New Orleans this past weekend for a fun getaway! We decided if we didn't do it now, it would never happen. The holidays are here and Addison will be here before we know it! Anyway, we headed out on Thursday after work and had a great time. We went to a lot of shops and saw a lot of the historic spots around New Orleans. My favorite part though was the food. I told J. O. my goal was to have desert with every meal and I think I succeeded! I even had desert one morning with breakfast. It was great. Needless to say, my doctors appointment this morning reflected my out of control eating. The nurse actually laughed when I stepped on the scale. I went into this big spill about how I had been out of town and eaten a lot...etc.etc...but luckily she just said it was fine and I had a good excuse!
More importantly J.O. and I had a great time and it was a lot of fun to be on our own for a bit. However, we were also really ready to be home and see Trey! Funny how things change!

PICS SOON!

Well, my camera batteries are dead so I will have to update pictures soon. We have had a lot going on. We have Addison's furniture completely put up and now all we have to do is decorate. I have her bedding and it is super cute! I had a shower this weekend and it was great. I got so many wonderful things that I need and I feel ready for this baby! I was so thankful to my friends who threw it and it helped me feel prepared before we start the madness of the holidays.

We also took Trey to Winnie the Pooh at Alltel Friday and he had a blast. He sat on our laps and clapped and yelled the whole time. He was very enamored by Tigger while he jumped around everywhere. It was a lot of fun! Just a word of advice though: if you ever take your kids to see something at Alltel, pay extra to park close! We drug Trey out of there screaming and I was very glad it was a short walk across the street to our car! Thankfully there were 1,000 other kids there and no one even looked at us dragging a limp child through traffic.

Last, I got my 4D ultrasound today and saw some great pictures of Addison. She never takes her right hand away from her face except when she is using it to grab her right foot. I made the technician show me her left side so I knew it existed! The only thing we couldn't ever see was a full picture of her head because she is too low. She was also sound asleep when we were trying to see her but the second we walked out she woke up! I have a feeling she may be a little stubborn. Anyway, I will have pictures up of all these soon when I get my camera batteries charged.

Change of Heart.....

Well, I have to be honest and admit I am not a HUGE fan of Halloween. I think it is just a big marketing scheme to get people to buy lots of candy and silly costumes. So, after Trey begged for the Elmo costume every time we were in Wal-Mart I finally broke down and bought it. When it came time to put on the costume though he hated it! It got fuzz all in his mouth and he wanted it off. I was grumbling about Halloween under my breath the whole time!! However, I slowly started talking him into it and he became more and more excited. Then when we got to the fall festival and he saw all the games and the big slide he went nuts! He was running around yelling, "I Elmo!" and talking to all the other kids in line. Before I realized it I was loving Halloween too! We drug Trey out of there when it was closing down and he sprinted around the house for about an hour when we got home. Next year, I will have to limit the candy. I was just having too much fun to care!
The big slide was his favorite part for sure. The bad thing about that was it took him a few times to get comfortable going on his own, so his big preggo mama had to climb up with him! I'm sure the kids behind me were terrified I would slip and fall on them! Anyway, I have changed my opinion on Halloween and now can't wait until next year! If only I could get J.O. to dress up in a family theme.......

Halloween!
